Responsibilities:Lagos State Primary Health Care Board
Aside from the responsibility of monitoring the 288 PHCs across the state the Board is saddled with the responsibility of recruiting, promoting and disciplining its junior staff in accordance with the Civil Service rules and regulations. The Board operates under the general supervision of the Ministry of Health with the Special Adviser to His Excellency as its political head.

1.Coordinate the planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation of primary Health Care Services.
2.Advise the Hon. Commissioner for Health and the Authorities of LGAs and LCDAs on matters regarding PHCs services in the state.
3.Improve/ establish policies in respect of primary health care implementation matters.
4.Ensure manpower planning, development and training in primary health care services.
5.Monitor the activities of Local Government Health Authorities.
6.Disburse funds to Local Government Health Authorities from National Primary Health Care development Agency and other sources.
7.Recruit and promote Primary Health Care staff in the state.
8.Handle Pensions.
