Born on 22 February 1960, Dr. LAWAL Lateef Temitayo Aramide started his elementary School in 1966 at Moslem school,Ososa. He later attended Ijebu-Ode Grammar School from where he obtained his West African School Certificate in 1977,earning a distinction,before proceeding to Federal Government College Odogbolu for the Higher School Certificate (HSC), which he successfully completed in 1979. He was later admitted into the College of Medicine, University of Lagos from where he graduated in 1984.He later specialized in Orthopaedics and Trauma in 1996.
His medical career spanned Massey Children Hospital, Lagos Island Maternity, National Orthopaedic HospitalIgbobi, Women’s Medical Centre and Premier Specialist Medical Centre, Victoria Island. He was subsequently appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon to General Hospital, Lagos in 2002. Today, Dr. Lawal is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Fellow, College of Surgeons of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCS).He is also a member of the International Association of Orthopaedic and Trauma surgeons (AOTrauma).
He has attended various courses in Nigeria, Ghana, India and Dubai such as advance trauma life support, Research Methodology Course, Health Service Management, Managing the Modern Hospital, Total Hip and Knee Replacement surgeries in Germany, among others.
He was a recipient of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School Old Students Best Scholar(1976), National Youth Service Corp Award (1986) and Sir Samuel Manuwa Prize for Best Graduating Candidate in Postgraduate Examination (1996).He had served as Chairman, Governing Council, Sulaiman College of Education(now Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa School of Vocational & Entrepreneurship Studies) of Tai Solarin University of Education. He is a member of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), past zonal secretary of the Nigerian Orthopaedic Association (NOA), past secretary of Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN) and the current Chairman, Medical Directors’ Forum of Lagos State General Hospitals.
A Rotarian, until his elevation to the elite class of a Permanent Secretaries, Dr. LAWAL Lateef Temitayo Aramide was the Medical Director Gbagada General Hospital, a position he had held since January 26 2015. He was appointed as the Permanent Secretary, Primary Health Care Board by His Excellency the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on the 27th December, 2018.
He is happily married with children.
